# River Review > River Review turns review into an organizational judgment asset. It is an open-source "Review Judgment as Code" framework: a capability pack / Skill Registry that runs a team's review criteria as versioned, repo-owned skills across plans, diffs, tests, and prior reviews — keeping a human in the loop rather than auto-merging. River Review versions your team's review know-how as repo-owned SKILL.md files (validated by `schemas/skill.schema.json`) and runs them across upstream (requirements / design / plan), midstream (diff / plan-conformance / tests), and downstream (report) SDLC gates. It is distributed as a Claude Code / Codex plugin and as a GitHub Action for headless CI review; npm distribution is intentionally out of scope. Its differentiators are repo-owned skills (review judgment travels with the code), perspective-based reviewer roles, and findings that are verified against the actual diff. The pipeline augments human reviewers — focusing them on high-risk judgment instead of replacing them (human-in-the-loop, no auto-merge). What ships today is a Review Judgment Platform, i.e. a team-owned audit layer; "Engineering Judgment Infrastructure" names a long-term direction and is not a description of the current product. ## Docs -
